As the console generation has gone on, an increasing number of publishers have started selling their new releases for an increased price of $70, and though it’s not yet become the industry-wide standard, it seems like the dominos on that front are going to continue to fall. Next in line, it seems, may be Sega, in particular with the upcoming Persona 3 Reload.
Sega recently sent out a survey (via ResetEra), as part of which it posed questions to respondents regarding Persona 3 Reload. While the questions themselves don’t explicitly mention a potential price point for the game, general information presented for the RPG remake mentions a price of $69.99.
Earlier this year, Sega said that it would consider higher prices for upcoming titles that it felt would be “commensurate with price increases”. Whether that means other major upcoming releases on the docket – like Metaphor: ReFantazio or Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – will follow in Persona 3 Reload’s footsteps (if the remake is indeed sold at a higher price) remains to be seen.
Persona 3 Reload is set to launch sometime in early 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will also be available day one via Game Pass.
