During the iPhone 15 mass production phase, which is said to kick off in August, Foxconn will likely be working at capacity to ensure that it meets Apple’s stringent deadlines, but this time, it will not be at the cost of its employees, according to the latest rumor. In addition, the assembling giant is reportedly handing out increased bonuses to new recruits, which is a usual pattern as it aims to increase the worker headcount prior to the iPhone 15 launch.
Before the mass production of the iPhone 15 lineup starts, MyDrivers reports that Foxconn aims to upgrade the production line four months in advance, with 80 percent of the production guaranteed. The remaining 20 percent is reserved in case of emergencies, such as when iPhone demand picks up, and Foxconn needs to add more personnel to the workforce. Given that the iPhone 15 lineup is said to have 84 million new units expected to be produced by the end of the year, Foxconn’s work has been cut out for it.
Though Foxconn aims to add around 10,000 employees to the workforce as it anticipates high demand for the iPhone 15, Apple’s chief assembling partner has also ensured that it will take care of the employees’ living conditions. Previously, there were reports that due to COVID-19 restrictions, the factory workers were subjected to horrible conditions, resulting in either their eventual resignation or the joining of protests. At one point, there were food and water shortages during the lockdown, creating a sense of unrest.
