The animation supervisor behind HBO Max's Peacemaker show is sharing his insight on crafting his favorite Eagly scene. The DC Extended Universe series acts as a spinoff of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, continuing the story of John Cena's titular hero after he turned on his team in the film to keep the US' involvement with Project Starfish under wraps. Peacemaker follows the vigilante as he is tasked with taking down parasitic extraterrestrials known as Butterflies from accomplishing their mysterious goals.
Alongside Cena, the cast for Peacemaker featured the DCEU returns of Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee and Viola Davis as well as the franchise introductions of Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji and Robert Patrick. Created, written and mostly directed by James Gunn, Peacemaker scored rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for Gunn's unique humor, expansion of the DCEU and the performances of its cast, namely Cena and Freddie Stroma as Vigilante. While the show introduced a number of thrilling elements to the DCEU, the creative team are sharing how they brought a now-fan-favorite character to life in Peacemaker.
