Stray is finally here, marking the arrival of what might well be the most unexpected hit of 2022. It appears a large chunk of you reading this likely already know that, though. Annapurna Interactive's latest title peaked at almost 63,000 players on Steam during its first day, making it the most successful game on the platform for the studio by quite some way.

That puts it in the top 20 games being played as you read this, above games like FIFA 22 and Elden Ring.
News that Stray is popular with PC players shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It was the most wishlisted game on the platform prior to its launch and is currently the fifth highest rate game on Steam in 2022. Cats seem to love it too. A number of people who have been enjoying Stray on launch day have been sharing how their cats have been reacting to the game. Suffice to say, most of them appear to be big fans
