Apple TV+'s forthcoming Godzillatelevision series adds its first cast members, starting with The Flash's Kiersey Clemons. Since it began in 2014, Legendary's MonsterVerse has steadily built itself up to be one of the most intriguing franchises out there. Last year saw the release of Godzilla vs. Kong, the MonsterVerse's biggest release yet that finally pitted its most iconic characters against one another. At the time, there was talk that Godzilla vs. Kong would conclude the MonsterVerse once and for all. Now, a year later, it's clear that isn't the case. Not only is a Godzilla vs. Kong sequel now set for release in 2024, the franchise is expanding into television.
Apple's Godzilla series was announced earlier this year. Set within the MonsterVerse in the aftermath of the Titans being revealed to the world, the untitled show will explore one family's journey as they uncover their long-lost ties to the mysterious organization Monarch. Specific details like where exactly in the MonsterVerse timeline the series takes place have yet to be revealed. WandaVision director Matt Shakman was tapped to serve as both director and executive producer back in May.
