In Agatha:Coven of Chaos, the MCU could lay the groundwork for the onscreen debut of Marvel Comics' Daughters of Liberty, an unlikely but fitting replacement for the Avengers. The ancient witch Agatha Harkness made her MCU debut in WandaVision, which tackled only a small part of Agatha's Marvel Comics background, namely in how Agatha slaughtered her coven by absorbing her fellow witches' powers. When Marvel announced that Agatha: House of Harkness would instead be called Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the name change prompted fan theories about Scarlet Witch returning in the Agatha Harkness-focused series. Apart from Wanda Maximoff's likely inevitable return, the title Agatha: Coven of Chaos could also be an allusion to Agatha Harkness' first Marvel Comics super team, the Daughters of Liberty.
In the late 1700s, during the American Revolutionary War, Agatha Harkness joined the Daughters of Liberty, a group of women fighting for justice, spreading the message of freedom throughout the colonies, and protecting knowledge of the new era. Originally helmed by Harriet Tubman, who famously led hundreds of slaves to freedom, the Daughters of Liberty were instructed in the ways of magic by Agatha Harkness. In Marvel Comics, Peggy Carter was also a member, and her first mission was to ensure that the Super Soldier serum inside Captain America wouldn't fall into the wrong hands. Another member of the Daughters of Liberty who is already in the MCU is Echo, who will be starring in her own MCU Phase 5 series, Echo, in summer 2023- ahead of Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Other notable Daughters of Liberty include Spider-Woman, White Tiger, Mockingbird, Toni Ho, Misty Knight, Invisible Woman, Sharon Carter, and Shuri, who makes her MCU return
