While 's player base has shrunk considerably since the game's launch in early 2024, the game's first major update may be enough to bring Trainers back with a plethora of new features and additions. Following 's runaway success, developer Pocket Pair made sure to promise the community that it intends to support and grow the experience throughout its early access period. While there was already plenty to do and see across the Palpagos Islands, Update v0.2.0.6 includes some excellent quality-of-life features to make the process of capturing and training Pals significantly easier.
Posted to 's official Steam page, the biggest new addition that could draw back lapsed players is Bellanoir, the Raid Boss. A challenging new Pal that can only be toppled with the help of a powerful team, this critter can't be caught and added to a Trainer's roster; instead, killing the Raid Boss will cause it to drop a unique Pal Egg that can be incubated for a special reward. Additionally, an «extreme» version of Bellanoir can also be fought and yields even better rewards but should also prove to be especially taxing on any player who's not decked out with the absolute best gear.
Another big factor in 's update potentially drawing players back to the game is the inclusion of new structures, items, and technologies that should make both expanding and managing a base significantly easier. Perhaps the most notable of these is the Ore Mining Site which allows Trainers to produce ore directly at the base, reducing how much time is needed to gather such a precious material. Smaller tweaks to the construction system, like roofs actually connecting to foundations and relaxing building piece placement rules, should allow architects to create even better homes.
There's also something to be said about many of the smaller changes that can fundamentally alter how players experience the game. Trainers can now create and equip a Ring of Mercy which prevents them from instantly reducing a Pal's HP to zero
