Palworld is known to have myriad treasure chests throughout its map, leading to a newly discovered, completely unusual chest location. Filled with a variety of loot, including potentially rare schematics, treasure chest hunting is one way to boost inventory stockpiles in Palworld.
A mix of creature collector and open-world survival crafting game, Palworld broke numerous records within its first week of launch into Early Access on PC and Xbox. Millions of people flocked to the innovative title, which gives players the ability to set caught Pals to work in a base, breed new subspecies, or even become food.
Reddit user JoeJoe535 posted the most unexpected spawn location for a chest in his world: in the middle of lava. Staring out at the chest as it floated above the molten sea, they were presented with a dilemma. Given the chance of burning to death from the heat and fire, the contents of the chest remained sealed away.
Thankfully, the community rallied with helpful tips on how to obtain the goods inside the chest. Palworld's fire mounts can walk over lava, allowing players to reach loot in the middle of a volcano unscathed. Flying mounts won't touch the lava, but can get close enough to snag the loot. Some posters even suggested that lava in certain areas doesn't cause damage, and just wearing Heat Resistant armor would be enough.
Whether this is an intended spawn location or a glitch hasn't been confirmed. There are different ways to get a treasure chest in lava. Whether walking over it or riding a Pal in Palworld, obtaining the loot is possible. However, there are no chests in water areas, such as the ocean or ponds that players can encounter. They also haven't been found in the volcano or other lava areas on the map. Typically, chests are in much more accessible spots. Though they could still get the loot from it, due to the strange position, this seems more like a bug than an intended feature.
