Obi-Wan Kenobi writer and executive producer Joby Harold assures fans that one major plot hole will be addressed by the time the show ends. Taking place between the events of Star Wars: Episode III– Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, Obi-Wan Kenobi features Ewan McGregor's titular character living in exile on Tatooine, watching over a young Luke Skywalker. The show has been a hit with audiences and critics so far, with many praising McGregor's performance and the introduction of a young version of Princess Leia, played by Vivien Lyra Blair.
Much to the surprise of many viewers, Obi-Wan Kenobi features a plot built mostly around the aging Jedi's relationship with Leia, instead of Luke. The four episodes that have been released thus far feature Obi-Wan coming out of hiding in order to recover Leia after she is kidnapped, with episode 4 depicting a daring rescue operation. While Obi-Wan Kenobi has generally proven to be a hit, many fans point out that several elements of the show introduce major plot holes into the Star Wars franchise. Leia's message to Obi-Wan in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, for example, is delivered in a way that suggests she doesn't know the Jedi at all, but the show establishes that the two have become quite close.
