The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal recently recalled Din Djarin and Grogu's emotional reunion in the Star Wars' spin-off television series, The Book of Boba Fett. The diminutive Jedi Apprentice Grogu, affectionately known as Baby Yoda, was kept a secret leading up to The Mandalorian season 1. Upon his reveal, he quickly became a worldwide sensation — audiences fell in love with the doe-eyed 50-year-old child. Initially a bounty for the Mandalorian to deliver to a faction of the splintered Empire, Din Djarin soon became attached to Grogu. The popular Disney+ television series chronicled the pair's journey across the galaxy as the bounty hunter attempted to deliver the fledgling Jedi to a Master who could teach him the way of the force.
The end of The Mandalorian season 2 found Din Djarin successful in his quest as he was able to deliver young Grogu to Luke Skywalker, who rescued them from near death at the robotic hands of the Moff Gideon's Dark Troopers. It would seem that the two's journey had come to an end. However, The Book of Boba Fett spin-off series included an episode that bridged the gap between The Mandalorian season 2 and season 3. Ignoring the story of the famed bounty hunter Boba Fett, in an episode directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, Din Djarin returns to Luke with a special gift for Grogu. However, Luke gives his apprentice the choice between life as a Jedi and reuniting with his friend and father figure. Grogu chooses the Mandalorian over Jedi training and joined his friend on Tatooine battling the Pyke Syndicate.
