Disney launches an Emmy Awards campaign for The Book of Boba Fett despite the show’s mixed reviews. Boba Fett made his triumphant return to the Star Wars universe in The Mandalorian season 2 (after being briefly teased in season 1). The famed bounty hunter’s own Disney+ show then dropped in late 2021.
Critics unfortunately did not exactly rush to praise the effort put forth by The Book of Boba Fett, which currently carries just a 66% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The biggest critical complaint about the show was that its storytelling was unfocused and too skewed toward setting up the rest of theStar Wars expanded universe, failing to explore the story of Boba Fett in a satisfying way. Others hit the show for squandering the character of Fennec Shand as played by Ming-Na Wen. Still others attacked the series for basically abandoning its lead character to veer off and tell a completely different story involving Din Djarin, Baby Yoda and Luke Skywalker.

Disney doesn’t seem too worried about critics’ takes on The Book of Boba Fett however, and are going ahead with an Emmy Awards campaign anyway. As revealed by the Disney Screenings website, the Boba Fett show is being pushed for multiple awards including Outstanding Drama Series. The effort to push Boba Fett for awards consideration this year surely comes in part because Obi-Wan Kenobi was released too late to be eligible for the 2022 Emmy Awards.
Of course The Book of Boba Fett does have more than a good chance to compete in many of the technical categories it’s being touted for, including things like Outstanding Costumes, Make-Up and Visual Effects. It’s much more of a stretch however to think the show has a
