Today’s Xbox Showcase contained plenty of new trailers for fans to sink their teeth into. The show opened with the first look at Redfall’sgameplay and followed up with other high-profile games. However, Redfall wasn’t the only horror game on Xbox’s list, withScorn getting its gameplay reveal later in the show.
Ebb Software originally announced Scorn in 2014 and announced it would be a PC and Xbox Series X/S in May 2020. The H. R. Giger-inspired horror game finally has an official release date, with its new trailer confirming its launch on October 21st.

“Disturbing, bizarre, and grotesque,” reads the top comet under Scorn’s trailer on YouTube, and it’s hard to find better words to describe Ebb Software’s surreal psychological horror game. The trailer opens with a shot of a strange but recognizably human corpse on an alien landscape. It then transitions to the eerily organic corridors of the strange facility where Scorn takes place. The next shot is hardly any more comforting, showing the protagonist ripping an alien umbilical cord out of their stomach. However, their mutated skin shows they are not free from the biological corruption of Scorn’s world.
The rest of the 1-minute and 20-second trailer goes by quickly, but shows a lot off in that time. After arming themselves with one of Scorn’s bizarre bio-mechanical weapons, the protagonist races through the alien structure, solving puzzles and fending off strange creatures. The latter are all pretty gruesome in their own right, though special mention must go to the tentacled abomination shown around the 48-second mark.
