Keep Breathing Images: First Look At Scream Star's New Survival Thriller
The first look images of the new Melissa Barrera survival thriller Keep Breathinghave arrived. Barrera previously starred as Sam Carpenter in Scream (2022), and is set to reprise that role in Scream 6 next year. The actress also starred in the movie adaptation of the musical In the Heights. Before those films, most of Barrera’s work had been Spanish language work.
Now, images have just been released of Barrera as terrified protagonist Liv in the Netflix series Keep Breathing. The images from Netflix reveal Barrera in peril, after surviving a plane crash. Barrera inhabits a battered plane and the empty Canadian wilderness as Liv attempts to survive after this plane crash.

The series plot has still been kept relatively vague, but it will be a survival series that will see Barrera’s Liv as the lone survivor of a plane crash who must battle the harsh Canadian wilderness alone while also coping with her own past traumas in her fight to stay alive. Keep Breathing will be released on Netflix as a six-episode limited series. The series also stars Jeff Wilbusch, Austin Stowell, Juan Pablo Espinosa and Florencia Lozano. The episodes are directed by Maggie Kiley (episodes 1-3) and Rebecca Rodriguez (episodes 4-6).
This Netflix series will see an exciting return for Barrera into a horror-related genre. She has already shown her ability to evoke intense fear in her work with Scream, so it is hopeful that Barrera will be able to sustain the lead role in this new survival thriller. Keep Breathing will be released on Netflix on July 28, 2022.
