In fact, content creation can be a very stressful and demanding occupation, with many people working 12-hour days, seven days a week. And for highly successful creators like Pokimane, sometimes it’s necessary to take a break and reset physically and mentally.
Having already expressed weariness with livestreaming in the past, Pokimane revealed that she had been considering retirement at the beginning of the year. Speaking honestly, the Twitch streamer shared that the job simply wasn’t that fun anymore. Though she ultimately changed her mind about leaving, that likely didn’t eliminate the need for some time off.

Now, half a year later, Pokimane has announced on Twitter that she will be taking a break from Twitch, citing a need to focus on herself and life off camera. She goes on to explain that taking breaks are important for maintaining health and that it can ultimately help a person’s career in the long run. Though she didn’t clarify how long the much-needed break would last, Pokimane ended her tweet by saying that she looked forward to returning refreshed and ready to go.
