Genshin Impact's world is called Teyvat, and it's made of seven different major regions. At the moment, only three of the regions can be accessed and explored: Mondstadt, Liyue, and the islands of Inazuma.
Developer HoYoverse has confirmed the upcoming Version 3.0 will finally introduce a new nation to the game, the mysterious land of Sumeru. Even though the region is yet to arrive, recent leaks have revealed more details about another Genshin Impact nation named Fontaine.

The addition of a new major region in Genshin Impact is probably the most exciting thing in the game's community. Even though HoYoverse's main focus remains its playable roster, a big part of the community claim that adding new explorable terrain can be just as exciting, and they can't wait for all of Teyvat's regions to arrive. Fontaine is known to be the home of the Hydro Archon, also known as the God of Justice, whose real name is still unknown. One of the most popular leakers for the game, GesnhinBLANK, has revealed that Sumeru is placed located north of the upcoming Sumeru region, and it's connected to Liyue.
This region seems to value justice over all else; however, it's also known for its devotion to technology and arts. Each nation in Genshin Impact is based on a real-life location and previous leaks have been hinting that Fontaine's is based on the country France. According to numerous leaks, Genshin Impact's Act 4 will apparently take place in Fontaine which means that players will most likely have the option to explore the new region in Version 4.0 which should arrive in 2023. Most of the information about Fontaine comes from its NPCs which are spread all over Teyvat.
