Vince McMahon shocked the WWE Universe on Friday when he announced his retirement, and megastar Brock Lesnar was so angry about this news that he reportedly walked out before SmackDown went on air. This could be a massive blow to the company, as SummerSlam is next weekend, and the former World Champion is supposed to take on Roman Reigns in the main event. There was a ZOOM meeting for all talent at 5 pm ET, but nothing worthy of note came from that, at least at the time of publication.
The day was already red-hot on the news side of WWE. Triple H initially made headlines by taking up his old role as EVP and Head Of Talent Relations. A few hours later, WWE's corporate office released a statement from McMahon announcing that he'd retired. Soon after, it was reported that the news angered Brock Lesnar to the point where he walked out of the show.

Multiple sources have confirmed this information, while Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer originally broke the news via his @bryanalvarez handle on Twitter. "From several sources, Brock Lesnar has left Smackdown." A few minutes later, Alvarez gave the following update on Twitter: "Brock's line was some derivative of, 'If he's gone, I'm gone.'" Fightful Select also reported that Lesnar was "very pissed off" by McMahon's retirement and confirmed that they too had heard that he walked out. Fightful also conveyed that Lesnar was supposed to be "all over" this episode of SmackDown. As of this writing, there has been no news about Brock returning before the show airs.
