Netflix unveils some first-look images from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, as the release date draws closer. Based on the Rise of the TMNT animated series, which ran for two seasons between 2018 and 2020, the new feature will once again follow the Ninja Turtles as they face down an alien race known as the Krang. First introduced to the Teenage Ninja Turtles franchise in the 1980s, Krang is portrayed both as an individual supervillain and a brain-like alien species.
Providing a first look at Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, Netflix Geeked has released four new images of the titular crime-fighting turtles. Pictured in the familiar brightly colored animation style, the gang stands in various poses seemingly ready for action. Caught off guard by Master Splinter in one image, another is held in the gloved hand of a mysterious individual. Check out the images below:

Announced back in 2019, the upcoming picture is helmed by the executive producers behind the original series, Andy Suriano and Ant Ward. Also returning to reprise their character roles from the show is Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog) as Leo, Omar Benson Miller (The Unicorn) as Raphael, Brandon Mychal Smith as Michelangelo, Josh Brener (Silicon Valley) as Donnie, Kat Graham (Vampire Diaries) as April, and Eric Bauza as Splinter. Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) also joins the cast in a currently undisclosed capacity. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie will make its premiere on August 5.
