Computex 2024 will be a huge deal for the AI PC segment, as MediaTek & NVIDIA are expected to present their AI PC SOC solution at the event.
Reports of NVIDIA working on its custom silicon have seen a sharp rise in the past few days, especially when Dell's CEO, Michael Dell, revealed that NVIDIA had planned something big for its consumers.
The market of AI PCs has a vast potential to grow, and we have already seen a glimpse of it with Microsoft's Copilot+ PCs, which have been powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite platform and the presence of AI-focused capabilities shows us that this particular segment will contribute to something much larger in future. In light of this, NVIDIA & MediaTek plan to present their very own computing solution at Computex 2024.
Taiwan media, CTEE, reports that MediaTek looks to make a huge stride at one of the world's most significant tech events through its chip solutions, and the firm plans on showcasing its next-generation Dimensity 9400 mobile SoC, which is yet again infused with AI capabilities.
Apart from that, the firm will pair up with NVIDIA to showcase their custom AI PC chip, which has been in talks for several months now and is seen as the "iPhone moment" of the AI PC markets. With this, both firms plan on wiping off the competition posed by Microsoft and Qualcomm in the markets, and it will be interesting to see what NVIDIA-MediaTek brings to the table.
What one should expect with the upcoming NVIDIA SoC is that it is built upon TSMC's second-generation 3nm process, similar to what Apple's M4 utilizes. The chip is also rumored to feature TSMC's CoWoS packaging. Moreover, the SoC will employ Arm-based Cortex X5 BlackHawk CPU cores and the Blackwell RTX GPU cores together, along with LPDDR5(T)
