Warner Bros. Japan has officially announced the highly anticipated streaming date, which is set to arrive on Hulu and Max in the United States.
Produced by Wit Studio, Suicide Squad Isekai serves as the latest animated series in the DC Universe. It will follow the adventures of fan-favorite anti-heroes, including Harley Quin (voiced by Anna Nagase), Peacemaker (Takehito Koyasu), Deadshot (Reigo Yamaguchi), Clayface (Jun Fukuyama), and King Shark (Subaru Kimura).
According to Warner Bros. Japan, Suicide Squad Isekai will be dropping its first three episodes on Max and Hulu on June 27, with new episodes releasing weekly. Audiences outside the US will get to see Suicide Squad Isekai via ANIPLUS and LAFTEL in South Korea, ADN in France, and HBO GO in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Directed by Eri Osada and written by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara, Suicide Squad Isekai — set in the dangerous Gotham City — will start with A.R.G.U.S. head Amanda Waller assembling a team of criminals to be sent into an odd realm ruled by dragons and ravaged by orcs.
“In the crime-ridden Gotham City, Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark. These DC Super-Villains are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies — an ISEKAI,” the synopsis reads.
The rest of the Japanese voice cast includes Yūichirō Umehara as The Joker, Taku Yashiro as Rick Flag, Kujira as Amanda Waller, Chika Anzai as Katana, and more.
The first three episodes of Suicide Squad Isekai will be available for streaming on June 27.
