No Man’s Sky Worlds Part I, aka update 5.0, is the first step in another major overhaul for Hello Games’ space faring adventure. This is a universal refresh that will add new technology, new plant life, new animals, and much more diversity of planet environments and types. Worlds Part I also sees improvements in the visuals and behaviours of water and the sky too. Watch Sean explain in the video below.
No Man’s Sky Worlds Part I has seen the water and cloud rendering overhauled completely. Water is now functioning on a mesh system which allows for more realistic waves and foam generation, while in the sky cloud coverage will vary between planets and be impacted by weather conditions. It will no longer rain if there is not enough cloud cover. The skies will be more varied with the colours of day and night based much more on an individual planet’s atmosphere. There are new frozen, lush, desert, scorched, radioactive and toxic worlds dotted around the universe. Winds will also be more realistic as will storm effects on plant and animal life.
