During Marvel Studios’ D23 presentation, a two-minute trailer for Daredevil: Born Again was screened for those in attendance, revealing the first official look at Jon Bernthal, Charlie Cox, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s respective returns as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Matt Murdock/Daredevil, and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
The trailer also revealed that Mohan Kapur will appear in Born Again, reprising his role from Ms. Marvel and The Marvels as Yusef Khan, the father of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. At this time, it is unknown how Yusef Khan will factor into the series, although the trailer suggested that he will be trying to employ the legal services of Matt Murdock.

Daredevil: Born Again will bring Netflix’s Marvel shows — Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher — officially into the MCU, although that wasn’t always the plan. Prior to the show’s creative reset in late 2023, Born Again was not expected to be a continuation of Netflix’s Daredevil series. However, after Marvel Studios reviewed the footage that had been shot before production was halted due to the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strike, the company decided to drastically overhaul Born Again.
The original creative team for Born Again was quietly let go, with Marvel hiring Dario Scardapane as showrunner and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead as lead directors. The Netflix/Marvel era — known as The Defenders Saga — was officially recognized as canon to the MCU’s sacred timeline, with filming resuming in January 2024.
As part of the creative reset, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, and Ayelet Zurer were added to the show’s cast, reprising their respective roles from The Defenders Saga as Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, and Vanessa Marianna-Fisk. Wilson Bethel also returns from Daredevil as Benjamin
