and released a new cinematic trailer for focusing on. Fans of the undead mode may recognize some familiar faces and names.
Liberty Falls is the second launch map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies mode. As described on a Call of Duty blog post, the map is a “once-quaint, now-overrun West Virginian town” and is “seemingly the epicenter of a Dark Aether outbreak.”
The new cinematic trailer begins with shots panning across the vast forest of Liberty Falls as the We’ll Meet Again by Vera Lynn plays, a callback to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombie mode. We then see series regular Edward Richtofen enjoying a nice picnic with his wife and child. As he goes to retried his wife’s sweater, the forest is set ablaze with his wife and child hauntingly smiling at him. A quick glance of his loved ones burnt to a crisp is shown right before he wakes up from the supposed nightmare.
However, he has woken into a second nightmare as dimension breaches occur across the facility. Richtofen is shown using the Wunderwaffe annihilate the zombie threat. He eventually escapes the undead by entering an elevator.
However, a purple gaseous entity takes a hold of Richtofen and then he suddenly disappears with his last words being, “I swear to you Sam, you’ll never be free.” The trailer ends with a big talking metal ball, from which the purple gas came from, that says, “But Edward, I already am.” This seems to imply the return of Sam Maxis in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies mode.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches October 25, 2024, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The first look of the Liberty Falls map will be during the Call of Duty: Next event next week, on August 28, 2024.
