With sure to gain new titles in the future, the long-rumored Nintendo Switch 2 offers the perfect opportunity to bring one forgotten game to life. Despite the console still not being officially announced, recent developments suggest it is more likely than ever that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in 2024. Of course, not every rumor can be believed, and some Switch 2 leaks are almost certainly fake, but the console undoubtedly has the potential to create an even better gaming experience than the Switch.
With no DLC to be released for , the latest title, attention has now turned to what future titles may bring. However, although there are many ways for to remain fresh in any new projects, it is important to note that there have also already been many exciting ideas that have gone sadly unutilized over the years. From entire unique games being canceled to more fragmented details, the development history of the franchise is full of intriguing but discarded concepts.
Naturally, a new game would be a perfect part of the Switch 2’s launch catalog, much like was for the Switch. As one of Nintendo’s most famous and beloved franchises, would be the perfect incentive for many to purchase the console as soon as possible. Moreover, the perfect basis for such a game already exists; a tech demo of the Wii U at E3 2011 revealed an absolutely stunning version of Hyrule, showcasing Link facing off against an incredibly detailed and imposing Gohma. The Switch 2 is now in the perfect position to revive this graphical style for a full game.
