Animal Crossing is easily Nintendo's most delightful intellectual property, and if you've been looking to create your own cozy village of adorable animal citizens, you're in luck. As part of the post-Prime-Day sales happening on Amazon, Prime subscribers can get not only a cute $28.49 (normally $39) collection of Animal Crossing critters, but also a highly detailed line of civilians that they can use to build their own village.
As part of the Bandai Shokugan line, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Tomodachi dolls are pocket-sized collectibles that look and feel great. Each of the seven characters has flocked fur and unflocked details, which gives them a cathartic texture when you handle them. This also works quite well aesthetically, as each little figure looks like it was ripped straight from the game thanks to the fine details of these textures.
In this third-volume release, you'll get Blathers, Celeste, Aurora, Goldie, Beau, Apollo, and Judy. The first two collections are also available, so if you're looking to go all in on your love for Animal Crossing, you can add other characters like Tom Nook, Isabelle, and KK Slider to your growing village. Just remember, Tom Nook never forgets when rent is due. Never.
Fun fact: Bandai released its first Shokugan toys more than 30 years ago in Japanese supermarkets, and since then, Shokugan have become sought-after collectibles. These are usually unique releases and are only available for a short period of time, adding to the collectible nature of these toys.
