The Exynos 2400 ended up being slower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in a recent single-core and multi-core score leak where it is determined how fast the CPU can perform. Unfortunately, Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship SoC came out on top, just like how its Adreno 750 GPU got the better of the Xclipse 940 graphics processor in the latest OpenCL and Vulkan test results.
During Samsung’s official announcement of the Exynos 2400, the company did not reveal intricate details of the Xclipse 940 GPU but did mention that it was based on AMD’s RDNA3 architecture and delivers impressive ray tracing performance. Though we will most likely get to see how this graphics processor holds up against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s Adreno 750 in future ray tracing situations, first, we will compare the OpenCL and Vulkan tests of Geekbench 6.
Both the Galaxy S24 Plus were supposedly tested in the benchmarks, with the two variants recognized by their model numbers SM-S926B and SM-S926U. In OpenCL, both the Xclipse 940 and Adreno 750 performed equally, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 being only 0.9 percent faster with a score of 15,055, which is within the margin of error when compared to the Exynos 2400’s 14,918 points.
Moving onto Vulkan, here we see the biggest difference, but not one where the Adreno 750 gains an abnormally massive lead as it is only 10 percent faster than the Xclipse 940. It appears that Samsung and AMD made significant improvements as a result of switching to the RDNA3 architecture, though it should be pointed out that benchmarks only tell half the story.
