The Dimensity 9300 appears to be trading blows with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the latest AnTuTu benchmark leak, as MediaTek’s upcoming flagship SoC was reportedly tested in Vivo’s unreleased X100 flagship. Despite Qualcomm’s unveiling of its best silicon to date, it is beaten by the better chipset.
The smartphone’s model number is ‘V2309A,’ and aside from the Dimensity 9300, it is paired with an impressive assortment of hardware, ranging from 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM, which is faster than the LPDDR5X variant. Also, right off the bat, the flagship is running Android 14. Coming to the scores, if you take a look at the image below that was taken from Weibo, the unreleased handset obtains a score of 2,249,858, beating the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by a small margin.
According to Sparrownews, Vivo X100’s just edged past the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, powering the Realme GT5 Pro’s innards by a difference of 20,000 points, making it an impressive victory for the Dimensity 9300. For those that do not know, unlike the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Dimensity 9300 relies on not one Cortex-X4 core but four of them to deliver unrivaled multi-core performance. A previous specifications leak stated that MediaTek’s upcoming silicon’s fastest core runs at 3.25GHz, while the remaining three run at 2.85GHz.
It is interesting to note that the Dimensity 9300 does not rely on any low-power Cortex-A520 cores, so while AnTuTu might have crowned a new champion, it is likely at the cost of inflated power consumption, which will consequently affect battery life when the Vivo X100 is running intensive applications. As for the GPU, the chipset features a 12-core Immortalis G720 graphics processor, as opposed to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s Adreno 750.
