Apple is preparing iOS 17.1.1 with significant bug fixes, which could be released sometime this week. Since the launch of iOS 17, users have been complaining of various bugs and issues impacting their user experience. The company did release a few iOS 17 updates with forward-facing additions and bug fixes, but problems keep coming up from time to time. Alongside iOS 17.1.1, Appl could also release a new watchOS 10 update for all Apple Watch models.
It was previously reported that the company is working on a new iOS 17.1.1 update, which, according to the version, will be a minor update. This means that the update will not bring new features to the table and instead house fixes for ongoing issues on the iPhone and iPad. The update was confirmed by MacRumors as evidence was discovered in the publication's analytics logs. Apart from bug fixes, it was also reported that the iOS 17.1.1 release will also focus on security updates.
At this point, it is unclear which bugs will be catered to in the forthcoming update. The company could fix Wi-Fi and connectivity issues with iOS 17.1.1 alongside an issue that shuts down an iPhone overnight, preventing users from receiving notifications in the morning. Apple is also expected to release a fix for the BMW wireless charging issue.
Apple's iOS 17.2 update currently rests in the beta stage, and the second developer beta is imminent. iOS 17.2 will be a significant update in contrast to the iOS 17.1.1 release as the build is discovered to house many front-facing features Apple announced at its WWDC 2023 event. It will also bring the highly anticipated Journal app to the iPhone and iPad.
