Over Half Of Baldur's Gate 3 Players Romanced Shadowheart
When it comes to potential romantic partners in Baldur's Gate 3, there are quite a few to pick from. Karlach is fiery yet wholesome, Astarion is for everyone that likes a bit of spice in their relationships, and The Emperor is there for people that have strayed too far from the light. However, when it comes to the most popular romance option, there's only one High Half-Elf that's managed to capture the hearts of players across the globe.
Shadowheart was the clear winner for most popular romance option back when the game launched, mostly because Astarion kept rejecting everyone, and she's maintained that title to this day. According to some new player stats published by Badlur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios, over half of all players chose to shack up with Shadowheart and reach the final act of her romance arc.
As for the other members of the Baldur's Gate 3 cast, Karlach placed in second as the game's most popular romance option, with Lae'zel coming in at a rather surprising third. Other popular characters such as Astarion, Halsin, and Minthara are nowhere to be seen, although further player stats reveal that 44 percent of Halsin romancers gave into temptation and decided to bonk his bear form.
Unfortunately for all you Shadowheart enjoyers, her actress Jennifer English actually ships her with Lae'zel, so you've got some pretty stiff competition right there.
Other interesting stats from this recent reveal also include how many people attempted the Honor Mode difficulty setting that was added with the game's latest patch.
