Fallout 76 has seen one of the more remarkable turnarounds we’ve seen for a game in some time, and after a rough launch (to say the least), with consistent support, content additions, and updates, the online RPG has amassed a dedicated and engaged fanbase- one that keeps growing.
In a blog post detailing Fallout 76’s roadmap for 2024 – which will include an expansion of the map, new factions and questlines, and more – Bethesda has announced that Fallout 76 has now surpassed 17 million players in its lifetime across all platforms.
At last count, in June, it had crossed 15 million players, so the game has clearly kept up steady momentum in terms of attracting new players.
Interestingly, earlier this year, it emerged from the leaks from Microsoft and FTC’s trials that following its acquisition of Bethesda, Microsoft had at one point considered cancelling Fallout 76, short of an appropriate increase in its active player base.
Fallout 76 is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and is also playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backward compatibility.
