Reddit user NavAU has revealed a version of Blood Moon Ursaluna that combines the already intimidating Pokémon with the subtle dread of a Parasect mushroom infection. The image has clearly struck a chord amongst people, with the post gaining over 1.6k upvotes in just a few days.
The lore surrounding Paras is terrifying, particularly upon its evolution into Parasect. The tochukaso mushrooms that grow on its back go from parasitizing the Pokémon and influencing its actions to fully taking over its body. It seems clear that this Ursaluna has undergone a similar fate, losing its autonomy and perhaps any thought to the mushrooms infesting it.
Between this Blood Moon Ursaluna’s entirely blank eyes and the mushrooms sprouting all over its body, NavAU has made it clear that the infestation is absolute. The eyes, which match Parasect’s, seem to indicate that the Pokémon has become something of a zombie as a result of this condition.
It is also worth noting that the normally gray mud covering Ursaluna is now a Parasect orange, perhaps implying that the protective coating has actually been replaced with a fungal version. Fan art has given many Pokémon creepy makeovers over the years, but this particular artwork becomes more nauseating the longer it is considered.
