EA released a title update to EA FC which hopes to fix an issue that saw players pick the ball up with their hands and run into the net.
The “Calf Dribble” glitch initially saw players use a skill move to stick the ball to their player’s calf, where it was irretrievable by the other team. This glitch later saw players manage to stick the ball to their player’s hands.
EA released the following note on its known issues Trello:
“In order to prevent this issue from occurring, we have temporarily removed the Trickster+ PlayStyle from Ultimate Team Player Items, they now have Trickster instead. Once this issue has been addressed in a future Title Update, we’ll be looking to add Trickster+ back to applicable Player Items.”
As it stands, this seems to suggest that the issue is still in the game, but EA has disabled the mechanics to access it. PlayStyles are unique properties that some players possess in order to mimic their real-life counterparts.
In this case, Trickster+ was given to players who are known for using showboating skills on the pitch, such as Neymar and Ronaldinho.
Unfortunately, EA did not state whether or not they will be providing compensation for players who’ve been affected by the glitch during this weekend’s FUT Champions competition, the football simulator’s most competitive mode.
“EA Sports FC 24 isn’t the huge departure that we’d hoped for,” VGC’s review of the game concluded. “While Ultimate Team devotees will likely be happy, the rest of the game feels like an afterthought in the transition away from the FIFA license.”
