Players who’ve logged in to EA Sports FC 24 before November 1 will be able to claim a free Erling Haaland item in December, according to an apparent in-game pop-up circulating on social media.
The message (pictured below) suggests that players who play the game before the cut-off will be eligible for a special version of the Manchester City striker, which will be added to their clubs in December.
Interestingly, this version of the card is only 87 rated, which is four points lower than Haaland’s normal item in the game.

It’s likely the decision not to release the item until December would have been made so not to upset the in-game market by devaluing other similar cards.
However, as some fans have pointed out on social media, by the time the card has been added to the game, other, far more powerful items will have already been added, leaving them to ask why EA is leaving such a gap between the promotion itself and the item being delivered to players.
This wouldn’t be the first time EA has run a promotion of this type, with a special David Beckham card being offered as a log-in gift for players in previous FIFA games.
“EA Sports FC 24 isn’t the huge departure that we’d hoped for,” VGC’s review of the game concluded. “While Ultimate Team devotees will likely be happy, the rest of the game feels like an afterthought in the transition away from the FIFA license.”
