Netflix confirmed its commitment to gaming today by revealing it has over 100 new titles either releasing this year or in development for the future.
Leanne Loombe, Netflix's Vice President, External Games, said the streaming service now offers 55 games to subscribers. However, we can expect a another 40 games to release(Opens in a new window) before the end of the year, taking the total up to 95. Beyond that, Netflix has 16 games in development internally, and another 70 games being developed with external partners. In total, that's 181 games once they are all released.
New games are planned for release every month this year across all genres, with RPGs, narrative adventures, and puzzle games mentioned as part of the line-up. New and notable releases include Highwater (watch the trailer above), which just released, Terra Nil(Opens in a new window) releasing on March 28, and Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace(Opens in a new window) releasing on April 18.
Last year, both Monument Valley games were made available to PC gamers for the first time in updated Panoramic Editions. Next year, Netflix will be making the games available to play so you don't have to buy them on Steam.
Netflix also teased that an exclusive game is currently in development with Super Evil Megacorp(Opens in a new window), the studio that gave us the battleground shooter Catalyst Black, and the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) Vainglory. We should find out what that new game is later this year.
