The sales success of Sonic Frontiers was noted by Sega in a 2022 financial report, where it had earned healthy sales numbers despite launching in a heavily competitive November, alongside titles like God of War: Ragnarok, Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet, and more. By the end of Sega's fiscal year 2022, the game had managed to sell roughly 2.9 million units, which had surpassed the parent company's expectations. Sonic Frontiers Beats God of War Ragnarok to Win Major Award
According to a tweet from the official Japanese account for the series, Sonic Frontiers has managed to sell over 3 million units worldwide, across all platforms. The last reported figure of 2.9 million was in the middle of February and the tail end of Sega's fiscal year. This meant the game had likely sold at least 100,000 copies sometime in-between the month of the financial report and the end of March, which is an impressive feat.
