Netflix's Tomb Raider Series Will Focus On Lara's Survivor Era
thegamer.comThe first trailer for Netflix's Tomb Raider anime series has revealed that it will focus on Survivor-era Lara Croft and showcase her "iconic rise" once more.
Netflix is currently in the middle of presenting Drop 01, a showcase for some of its big upcoming animations, including Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Sonic Prime's third season, and, surprisingly, an anime adaptation of Devil May Cry from Studio Mir and Adi Shankar, the man behind Netflix's Castlevania series. That wasn't it for the anime surprises, though, as we also got our first look at the upcoming Tomb Raider anime.

The show, which is titled Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, is based around the "iconic rise of Lara Croft", which seems to mean that it's going to focus on the rebooted Survivor era of the character. The trailer starts by showing Lara notching an arrow into her bow, before showing her leaping into a cavern, uncovering a treasure, rising from the flames of a wreckage, and facing some kind of mystical energy.
The trailer then shows Lara dusting off an old picture of her with the crew of the Endurance, including Jonah, Roth, Sam, and Reyes. This seems to imply that the events of the anime take place after the 2013 reboot, although how long after isn't made clear by the trailer. It seems that it can't be too far after the 2013 game, as Lara is wearing a very similar outfit (although it's also similar to the one she wore in Shadow of the Tomb Raider) and the show is said to focus on the "iconic rise of Lara Croft".
