Mortal Kombat 1 launched with a new single-player mode called Invasions, the replacement for Krypt. It's a board game with towers, fights, and minigames set across several islands, tied to a seasonal story. Season two is called Blood and will be about Nitara, season three is called Thunder and will focus on Raiden, season four is called Hybrid and will centre on Mileena, and season five is called Cyromancer and will be about Sub-Zero.
