Three years on, Nintendo's collaboration with Lego has been an incredibly successful one. What kicked off as one Super Mario starter set has become an entire brick-built Mushroom Kingdom filled with a number of iconic characters from the games. Although it has already branched out a little off the back of that success via Lego Donkey Kong, it has now been confirmed that at least one more Nintendo series will be getting the Lego treatment: Animal Crossing.
It's been rumored for a couple of months that elements of Animal Crossing might be getting a Lego makeover, and now Nintendo has confirmed that. A clip that shows Lego mini-figures of various Animal Crossing characters was shared on social media, the group releasing a small Lego balloon present off into the sky. The short clip then ends with the balloon disappearing and clouds moving apart to show the Lego and Animal Crossing logos.

While the clip doesn't confirm what exactly the crossover will bring, the most likely scenario is a range of Animal Crossing Lego sets are on the horizon. That's what the rumors suggested back in August, claiming there will be as many as five sets to kick off the series, that the prices will start from $15, and they'll be here in early 2024. No confirmation on that just yet, but this does feel like the first step toward confirming those rumors were indeed true.
If the potential Animal Crossing sets are even half as successful as the Super Mario ones, this may well spell the beginning of a long line of Lego crossovers.
