One fan tapped into their love for Disney animated movies and not only made designs based on but also recreated «How Far I'll Go» from the first movie. It isn't an exact recreation, as the villagers in can't sing, but it's a delightful time nonetheless. This also showcases the creativity that helps players tap into.
YouTuber Rona Ding posted a video of their recreation of «How Far I'll Go» on their New Horizons island. This isn't their first Disney-Animal Crossing crossover, as they've posted several similar videos that recreate songs from Frozen and the live-action version of in the post. However, this is the first they've done with, and as of this writing, the video has gotten one million views. Rona Ding uses some savvy editing alongside their Moana villager lookalike, which does a good job of capturing the sequence in the movie.
Rona Ding already had a wealth of items in that made for an easy setup to recreate «How Far I'll Go.» These included bamboo sticks, wooden boats and shovels, and island trees that, while not exactly like the animation in, did enough to capture the feel of the scene and Moana's island home. The items that made the most difference to this recreation were the wallpaper behind their Moana-inspired villager that was more accurate to Moana's island surroundings. This allowed Rona Ding to recreate some of the running and singing Moana does in the scene. It goes to show that with a little maneuvering of ' in-game camera, players can make their own movie magic.
