Miasma Chronicles is going to be released on May 23rd, The Bearded Ladies and 505 Games have announced. The game looks to build upon the mechanics of The Bearded Ladies’ last project which was Mutant Year Zero, and is inspired from the likes of the XCOM games. Miasma Chronicles will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The story outline for Miasma Chronicles says, “The tactical adventure sees players take on the role of Elvis, a young man abandoned by his mother in the wastelands of America, with only his robot ‘brother’ Diggs for company. Together they must unravel the mystery of the Miasma, a mysterious entity that threatens the last vestiges of humanity and turns all who come in contact with it into barbaric corruptions of their former selves.”
Miasma Chronicles Preview – A slick XCOM-like RPG in a new universe
In our preview for Miasma Chronicles, Stefan wrote, “While we barely got to scratch the surface of Miasma Chronicles through the short hands on time we had from the start of the game, it’s clear that The Bearded Ladies are building on the strengths of their previous game. They’ve taken a step away from the wilder setting of Mutant Year Zero, and in doing so, Miasma Chronicles could easily appeal to a broader audience when it comes out in 2023.”
