Fans of the Yakuza series are in for a treat as new details have emerged about the upcoming release of Like a Dragon 8. The game's developer, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, recently revealed that Goro Majima, one of the most beloved characters in the ongoing series, will be making an appearance in the new game.
Players however shouldn’t get too excited as Majima will not be a main character in Like a Dragon 8. The character will be taking on a supporting role and appearing in select scenes throughout the game. “Majima will appear, although there’s not much reason to,” Designer at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios Masayoshi Yokoyama said in a stream organized by the developer. “Huh, is it okay to say that,” voice actor Hidenari Ugaki wondered. “Well, it can’t be helped, he’s not part of the main cast,” Yokoyama answered.

Majima is of course a fan favorite in the Yakuza series, known for his unpredictable nature and unique fighting style. He can often be seen wearing an eye patch and carrying a dagger, adding to his mysterious aura. The character has been featured in many of the Yakuza games over the years including the ever popular Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza 0, and Yakuza 6. He also has been the star of his own spin-off game, Yakuza: Dead Souls.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating Majima's return in Like a Dragon 8 ever since the game's announcement earlier this year. Several have been speculating that Majima would be a main character in the game, as he has been in so many previous installments in the series.
