Update: As promised, MultiVersus has been re-revealed following its unprecedented year offline. The title will launch on 28th May, and will ship with a raft of improvements, including an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5, all-new rollback netcode, and fresh stages and characters. We spotted Townsville from the Powerpuff Girls.
There'll also be a PvE mode, which promises a new way to play beyond the existing competitive modes. More announcements will be made in the weeks leading up to launch, but there's the promise of plenty of rewards for this additional inclusion.
Original Article: Warner Bros’ well-liked mascot brawler MultiVersus, which was pulled offline in an unprecedented move almost a year ago, will re-emerge later today. After a successful “mic check” on Twitter last week, the release has now scheduled a Monday morning meeting with Tony Huynh, the title’s very public game director. Alarms have been set for 6AM PT/1PM GMT.
Presumably we’ll be getting an update on the game, including a new release date. Presumably, developer Player1stGames has used this year offline to bolster out its plans, and improve the overall experience.
There has been talk of a single player campaign, and we’d expect the live service aspects to be better executed this time around. We’d also anticipate numerous balance improvements, the announcement of some new characters, and a much stronger roadmap for the release. Personally, we’re excited to see the future of this title, because we poured a fair few hours into it at launch and feel ready to return.
