The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesstrailer seemingly hinted at a major villain, and Marvel already teased the character's appearance in Loki. Marvel included several reveals in its latest Doctor Strange 2trailer. The new footage starts with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) claiming he has the same dream repeatedly and showing the character's nightmarish visions. There are also several appearances by notable characters, including America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart). Elsewhere in the trailer, Doctor Strange confronts Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), who seems like she's up to no good. Additionally, robots that look like Ultron's sentries escort Stephen Strange to a trial that appears to take place before Marvel's Illuminati.
Loki first brought the Multiverse to the MCU. In the Loki season 1 finale, Lady Loki/Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) make it to the Citadel at the End of Time and confront He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), a Kang the Conqueror variant. He Who Remains is in charge of the Sacred Timeline and the Time Variance Authority, and he offers the Loki variants a chance to take his place. However, Sylvie doesn't care. She kills He Who Remains, and the Multiverse seemingly is unleashed on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
