Benedict Cumberbatch reveals he is still taking part in reshoots for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Cumberbatch made his MCU debut back in 2016 in Doctor Strange, in which he portrayed the titular sorcerer. The British actor has since appeared in Thor: Ragnarok, two Avengers films, and he played a significant role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The sequel to Doctor Strange, titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is directed by Spider-Man alumnus Sam Raimi and is scheduled for release in less than two months time on May 6th.
Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange has become an increasingly central figure in the MCU as it expands and progresses forwards through Phase 4. With WandaVision, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the franchise is set to explore the limitless possibilities of the MCU multiverse through the near future, with Doctor Strange being a key character. Although the film first began shooting in 2020, Raimi confirmed in January 2022 that it was undergoing reshoots before initial test screenings.
