A new poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reveals a fresh look at Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange and the film’s other heroes. Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gradually delved into its multiverse concept via WandaVision, Loki, What If…?, and, most recently, Spider-Man: No Way Home. That film saw Cumberbatch’s sorcerer accidentally bring well-known characters from alternate realities into the MCU. With a script written by Loki creator Michael Waldron, director Sam Raimi’s Multiverse of Madness will further explore the consequences of dangerous magic and is poised to feature more than a few familiar faces.
In addition to Cumberbatch, the sequel will see Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor all reprise their roles from 2016’s Doctor Strange. The cast also includes Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch and Xochitl Gomez making her MCU debut as America Chavez. Trailer footage has revealed multiple variants, including an evil Strange/Strange Supreme, Defender Strange, multiple Wanda (s), and Patrick Stewart as a version of Professor Charles Xavier. Irrespective of alternate realities and variants, the film’s marketing campaign has featured Doctor Strange, Wanda, Wong, and America Chavez at its center. Now, a poster has unveiled a new look at these four heroes.
