The upcoming MCU sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, could introduce Man-Thing, one of Marvel's most popular monster characters. Following Spider-Man: No Way Home'sMultiverse-infused plot, the Doctor Strangesequel promises to delve even deeper into the concept of parallel universes. Doctor Strange 2 will star Benedict Cumberbatch as at least three versions of Doctor Strange. The majority of the cast of the 2016 original will also be reprising their roles, with Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, and Chiwetel Ejiofor all set to return as Wong, Christine Palmer, and Mordo, respectively. Joining the cast is Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, and MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez. However, one potential new addition could both function as welcome fan-service and propel the MCU in an interesting direction.
Audiences are expecting a whole slew of Marvel cameos in Multiverse of Madness due to the multiversal nature of the film. Rumors indicate that not only will the film include a plethora of one-shot appearances from pre-MCU Marvel heroes, it will also introduce MCU versions of mystical characters such as Ghost Rider. No Way Home proved thatusing the multiverse as a plot device opens up infinite possibilities for both fan service and character introductions, and if the rumors are to be believed, Doctor Strange 2 will make good use of those possibilities. There is one character, however, who has been absent from all the rumors, one that fits the multiverse theme better than any other, and that's Man-Thing.
