As reported by Fandango, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has quickly become the highest-selling film of 2022 on their platform in the first 24-hours of pre-sales opening. The Marvel sequel's pre-sale performance overtook any other film released in 2022 so far, including Matt Reeves' The Batman, which previously held the record for the year. Multiverse of Madness also became Fandango's biggest pre-sale opening since Marvel's previous theatrical release, Spider-Man: No Way Home, in November 2021.
