Doctor Strange 2 Pre-sales Beat The Batman For 2022 So Far On Fandango
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessticket pre-sales have reportedly surpassedThe Batman's, making it the best-selling film of 2022 so far. The Marvel sequel, directed by Sam Raimi, is set to debut in theaters on May 6th, 2022. The Batman debuted in March, directed by Matt Reeves, and saw Robert Pattinson becoming the latest actor to portray the Caped Crusader on film.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the next theatrical chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's ongoing narrative. Not only will the film focus on Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) following the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame and his tampering with reality in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it will also see Wanda Maximoff's (Elizabeth Olsen) powers grow following the events of WandaVision. With acclaimed horror director Raimi helming the sequel and cameos from Marvel movie veterans like Patrick Stewart, there is much anticipation for the film. Tickets went on sale on April 6th.

As reported by Fandango, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has quickly become the highest-selling film of 2022 on their platform in the first 24-hours of pre-sales opening. The Marvel sequel's pre-sale performance overtook any other film released in 2022 so far, including Matt Reeves' The Batman, which previously held the record for the year. Multiverse of Madness also became Fandango's biggest pre-sale opening since Marvel's previous theatrical release, Spider-Man: No Way Home, in November 2021.
