Shazam!director David F. Sandberg shares a hilarious edit of The Batman inspired by the 1960s Barman television series starring Adam West. Writer/director Matt Reeves's reboot was released to critical and commercial acclaim on March 4 and has been playing exclusively in theaters ever since. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as GCPD’s Lieutenant James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Paul Dano as Riddler.
When it was announced that Pattinson would star in The Batman, the casting of the former Twilight star drew mixed reactions from those unfamiliar with his impressive work in films like Good Time, The Lighthouse, and Tenet. The Batman’s first trailer dropped during 2020’s DC FanDome and it silenced almost all of those naysayers. Specifically, the teaser’s final scene, where Pattinson pummels a face-painted goon, promised a brutal take on Batman. With the film set to end its theatrical run soon, it’s safe to say Reeves’ noir thriller has delivered on that promise. Now, HBO Max is promoting The Batman’s release on the streaming service on April 18th and Sandberg is here to help the hype.
