There might be a specific reason why Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) was extra hard on Loki (Tom Hiddleston). MCU's primary sorcerer has been tasked to lead the Masters of the Mystic Arts in protecting Earth from interdimensional villains. However, amidst a string of villains that he's faced in the last few years, it seems like Doctor Strange was the keenest on making sure that the God of Mischief didn't wreak any more havoc.
Loki was already an established character in the MCU when Stephen Strange debuted in Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange film in 2017. After Thor (Chris Hemsworth) found out about Loki's impersonation of Odin (Anthony Hopkins), the Asgardian princes traveled to Earth to find their father. This makes sense considering the wizard's sworn duty as the interim Sorcerer Supreme, but it's curious why he never put the same effort when monitoring other incoming threats.
