But while it's the sorcerer's second standalone film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will feature an ensemble cast that includes several long-time, fan-favorite Marvel characters, and as Sir Patrick Stewart recently verified, that includes Charles Xavier.
With Sam Raimi's upcoming superhero film hitting theaters on May 6, 2022, Marvel Studios is officially ramping up its marketing efforts ahead of the blockbuster's release. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' first trailer premiered during Super Bowl LVI. The trailer is dense with stunning visuals, but without any context, it does little to inform viewers of the movie's overarching plot. Despite this, the promotional spot had no scarcity of standout moments—from new, horrifying monsters to the potentially villainous Scarlett Witch—and arguably the best among them was the audible tease of Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier.
