If Marvel is going to pick a second character to represent the X-Men in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it should be Magik – not Wolverine. According to a new rumor, Wolverine will be making an appearance in Doctor Strange’s new movie. Supposedly, he’ll be played by someone other than Hugh Jackman.
Based on what’s been revealed so far, the X-Men’s return to the big screen is inching near. Instead of saving them all for their own movie, it looks like Marvel Studios will include a cameo for at least one X-Men character. Though Marvel has avoided directly confirming it, Patrick Stewart’s voice in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer clear made it abundantly clear that Professor X is joining the MCU via the multiverse. Presumably, the founder of the X-Men will be a member of a secretive group that may or may not be the Illuminati. And if the Wolverine rumor is true, the movie could boast a scene where Stewart's Professor X consults with a member of his team.

While Wolverine’s presence would no doubt be exciting, he wouldn’t be the best choice to represent the X-Men in Doctor Strange 2. Narrative-wise, Magik would be a much better fit for a cameo. In Marvel Comics, Magik is a founding member of the New Mutants, a major character in several X-Men titles, and the younger sister of Colossus.
